BaleHaus@Bath is a modern architecture project of a unique, two story building on the campus of the University of Bath. The house is based on ModCell – prefabricated cladding panels constructed from straw bale and hemp, which offer excellent thermal insulation qualities.

This prefabricated, modern single story home seems to float over the foundations, while the exterior deep recesses and overhangs create shadow lines and transition between the stucco and wood materials of the structure.

Originally designed for Better Homes and Gardens magazine, this beautiful home is a modern prefab that features concrete lap sidings and bold horizontal roof lines, designed to visually reinforce the ‘prairie style’ of the house.
